Kickstart Kindness April 1 - 30

Common Heart’s annual spring food and fundraising campaign is just getting underway. Kickstart Kindness is our month-long campaign to get us ready for all the good we have planned for the year. We cannot reach our goals without you.  Indeed, you are most important in God’s campaign for kindness in our community!

For almost 9 years, this loose knit collection of friends has been growing and growing stronger.  Like a little yeast expands in a small lump of dough so that a delicious loaf of homemade bread can be enjoyed by a family, God has put us in this community to cause kindness to overflow, needs to be met, and God’s love can work its wonders in each heart.

During The Kickstart Kindness Campaign from April 1 – April 30 we seek to …

  • Collect 15,000 pounds of food. We have 2 food drives scheduled that we hope will raise 5,000 pounds. We need your help to bring in the full amount.
  • Mobilize 25 Kickstarters …. Volunteers who will share our story and ask their friends to help kickstart kindness!
  • Raise $15,000 in cash donations to provide the background support including getting our walk-in freezer up and running.
  • And crucial to funding a small revolution of kindness, enlist the support of 30 “Patrons of the Heart” each making a monthly or quarterly cash pledge.
Our overall goal is $45,000 in food (1 lb =$ 1), cash, and pledges.

Will you help us reach our goal?
Can you help us fund a small revolution of kindness?

  • Could you volunteer to work at one of our Food Drives?
  • Could you organize a food drive among your friends, in your neighborhood or at work or church?
  • Could you make a financial contribution to Kickstart Kindness?
  • Can you take the challenge and be a Kickstarter for us?  Do you know 10 caring people who could donate just $25 to provide a week’s worth of food to a neighbor in need?
  • Could you, or your business or your church become one of our 30 “Patrons of the Heart” so we can have a firm financial footing to increase our ability to mobilize caring people to serve.
